By the Alphaa team — we build an AI agent that checks what ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity say about local businesses. Competitor facts below were read from each company's own pricing page on 1 October 2026.

Short answer: Profound and Peec AI are AI-search analytics platforms built for marketing teams, and Alphaa is an agent built for one business that writes the fixes. Peec AI publishes prices from $95 a month; Profound publishes none and quotes Enterprise deals; Alphaa starts at $99. Choose on who does the work afterwards.

We are one of the three, so treat this page accordingly: every claim about Profound and Peec AI below is something you can check on their own pages, and we have linked those pages so you can. Where a figure is reported by third parties rather than published by the vendor, we say so instead of repeating it.

What does each of these tools actually do?

All three ask AI assistants questions on your behalf and record the answers — after that they diverge completely. Profound and Peec AI turn those answers into analytics: visibility scores, share of voice, sentiment, which sources the engines retrieved, and ranked recommendations for your team to action. Alphaa turns them into drafted work: a page, an FAQ block, structured data, an llms.txt file, a review reply, waiting for you to approve.

That difference matters more than any feature list, because the bottleneck for most businesses is not knowing what is wrong. It is having someone write the thing that fixes it.

How do Profound, Peec AI and Alphaa compare on price and scope?

Peec AI and Alphaa publish their prices; Profound does not, which is itself the most useful fact about it. Here is what each company's own site showed as of October 2026.

Third-party reviews quote Profound figures in the hundreds and thousands of dollars a month. We are not repeating those numbers, because Profound does not publish them and we cannot verify them. If price certainty matters to you, that absence is the answer.

Which engines does each tool really cover?

Engine coverage is where the marketing and the pricing table disagree most often, so read the plan you would actually buy. Three details worth knowing before you commit:

  • Peec AI's self-serve plans ask you to choose three models. The selectable list on its pricing page is ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Claude, GPT-5 Search, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen and Mistral are listed under Enterprise, through the API.
  • Profound's free trial covers three surfaces — ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews — and its Enterprise tier lists up to nine answer engines. There is no self-serve tier in between on the published page.
  • Alphaa covers four assistants on every plan: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. It does not track AI Overviews, AI Mode or Copilot, and it does not read your server logs.

Google treats AI Overviews and AI Mode as part of Search and says in its own documentation on AI features that there are no special optimisations or extra markup needed to appear in them. That is worth holding on to while you read anyone's feature list, ours included.

Who should buy Profound?

Profound fits a brand with a marketing team, a budget it does not have to defend line by line, and an appetite for depth. Its published feature set is the broadest of the three: agents you build and reuse, a context manager, bulk runs through its sheets product, prompt-volume research, and attribution for AI-sourced traffic across your domains. Unlimited seats and SOC 2 are on the Enterprise tier.

The trade is commercial, not technical. You cannot buy it from a pricing page, you will be talking to sales, and the trial runs for seven days. For an enterprise procurement cycle that is normal. For a dental practice it is a non-starter.

Who should buy Peec AI?

Peec AI fits an SEO or content team — in-house or at an agency — that will act on data once it has it. Its pricing is public, which makes it easy to budget, and unlimited users on every plan means the whole team and the client can look at the same dashboard without a seat negotiation. Its site says it is used by over 3,000 brands and agencies.

Agencies get their own tiers, published at $245, $495 and $795 a month, built around tracking several brands at once. The deeper analytics — share of voice, sentiment, source classification, gap analysis against competitors who get cited where you do not — are genuinely good, and more granular than anything Alphaa produces. We cover the single-brand version of this comparison on our Alphaa vs. Peec AI page.

Who should buy Alphaa?

Alphaa fits the owner who has nobody to hand a recommendation to. It asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity the questions your customers ask every week, runs a 23-point check on what those engines can read on your site, and then writes the fixes: the FAQ block, the structured data, the llms.txt file, the Google Business Profile post, the review reply. You approve each one, and it publishes to WordPress, Shopify or Webflow or emails the change to your web person.

It is deliberately narrower. Ten or twenty tracked questions, not 350. Weekly, not daily. No log-file analysis, no share-of-voice chart, no seat management. Starter is $99 a month, Pro $199, Full Service $299, month to month, and there is no free trial — the free 60-second check is how you see what the engines say before paying anything. We cannot edit a model's weights, and nothing here guarantees a recommendation; what the agent changes is the public evidence those models read.

What does each tool not do?

Every one of the three has a real gap, and the gaps are more decision-relevant than the feature lists because they are what you will be paying someone else to cover.

  • Profound does not sell to you from a page. There is no self-serve monthly tier on its published pricing, so the cheapest way in is a seven-day trial and then a conversation. If you need to start on a Tuesday afternoon without a procurement step, that is a hard blocker.
  • Peec AI does not publish or change anything on your site. It will tell you which sources cite your competitors and not you, ranked by opportunity, and its agent skills will draft around that data — but the page still has to be written and shipped by a human on your side.
  • Alphaa does not measure deeply. Ten or twenty tracked questions, four assistants, weekly. No crawler log analysis, no referral attribution, no sentiment scoring, no share-of-voice chart, no AI Overviews or Copilot coverage. If reporting to a marketing director is the job, it is the wrong tool.
  • None of the three do link building or PR. Earned mentions on sites an engine already trusts remain a human job, and all three will show you the gap without closing it.

How should you trial these without wasting a month?

Run the same five prompts through every option and compare the output you get back, not the dashboard you get shown. Five prompts is enough because the question you are answering is narrow: does this thing tell me something I did not know, and does it leave me with work done or work to do?

  1. Write five prompts a real customer would type — including your city, your price bracket and one constraint. Not your brand name; branded prompts flatter everyone.
  2. Ask them yourself first, by hand, in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. Save who got named and which pages were cited. This is your control, and it costs nothing.
  3. Start Profound's seven-day trial on a Monday so you use all seven days, and spend them on the prompt-volume and citation data you cannot reproduce by hand.
  4. Buy one month of Peec AI's entry plan if daily tracking and source analysis is what you are testing, and point it at the same five prompts.
  5. Judge each on one question: at the end of the month, is there a published change on your site that came out of it? That is the only output that moves an answer.

The failure mode to watch for is a beautiful dashboard and an unchanged website. It is the most common outcome of AI-visibility software at every price point, including the cheap end, and it is worth naming before you sign anything.

Can you use a dashboard and an agent together?

Yes, and for a mid-size brand that combination is often the right answer. Measurement and execution are different jobs, and the tools that are good at one are rarely the cheapest way to get the other. A team running Peec AI for daily share-of-voice data and a writer turning its gap analysis into pages is a perfectly sensible setup.

The pairing stops making sense at the small end. If the gap analysis lands in an inbox nobody has time to open, a second subscription has not bought you anything. That is the case where one tool that drafts the work beats two that describe it. If you are weighing total spend rather than tools, our breakdown of what AEO actually costs compares software, freelancers and agencies on the same page, and our wider tool comparison covers the category beyond these three.

What else do buyers ask about these three tools?

Is Profound or Peec AI cheaper?

Peec AI is cheaper for anyone who can buy from a pricing page, because it has one: $95 a month at entry as of October 2026. Profound publishes no monthly price, so the honest comparison is "published versus quoted" rather than a number against a number.

Does Peec AI track Claude?

Claude Sonnet 4 appears under Peec AI's Enterprise tier, accessed through the API, not among the models its self-serve plans let you choose. As of October 2026 the self-serve selectable list is ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI.

Do any of these tools guarantee that AI will recommend you?

No, and any vendor that implies otherwise is overselling. None of these products can change a model's weights or edit an answer; they measure what the engines currently say and improve the public evidence those engines read. We go into the mechanism in our post on whether AEO is real.

Which one should an agency pick?

An agency that sells reporting and strategy should look at Peec AI's agency tiers or Profound, both of which are built for multi-brand tracking with unlimited seats. An agency that wants the production work done for a long tail of small clients is a different buyer, and that is the case Alphaa is built for.

How long before any of them show a change?

Measurement is immediate — you see what the engines say today on day one. Changing what they say is slower, because it depends on recrawling and on retrieval picking your page up; we set honest expectations in how long AEO takes. Treat any timeline promise as a red flag, whoever makes it.
