Short answer: Alphaa vs Profound comes down to who the buyer is. Profound is an AI-search marketing platform for brand and enterprise teams, sold through a free trial and custom quotes. Alphaa is an AI agent for one business that checks four assistants weekly and drafts fixes for the owner to approve, from $99 a month.

We make Alphaa, so read this with that in mind. Every statement about Profound below comes from Profound's own pricing page, homepage or documentation, read on 23 October 2026, and those pages are linked so you can check them. Where Profound does not publish something, we say so rather than repeating third-party guesses.

What is the difference between Alphaa and Profound?

The main difference is scale and audience: Profound is a broad marketing platform for teams, and Alphaa is a narrow agent for a single business. Profound's homepage describes monitoring products (Answer Engine Insights, Prompt Volumes, Shopping and Agent Analytics), an "AI Marketer" with Agents and a Context Manager, plus fact-checking, sentiment and benchmarking. It names AEO, content, and PR and brand teams as users, and highlights enterprise governance such as SSO and SOC 2.

Alphaa does a smaller job end to end. It asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity the questions your customers ask, runs a 23-point check of what those assistants can read on your site, and then writes the fixes: FAQ pages, structured data, an llms.txt file, Google Business Profile posts and review replies. Nothing goes live until the owner approves it, and it publishes to WordPress, Shopify and Webflow.

How do Alphaa and Profound compare side by side?

Side by side, Profound wins on engine coverage, data depth and enterprise controls, while Alphaa wins on published price and on doing the work for a non-marketer. This table uses only what each company publishes.

Profound figures are from its pricing page as of October 2026. Its FAQ also mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan, but the page does not list a price for it, so neither do we.

How much does Profound cost compared with Alphaa?

Profound does not publish a monthly price; its pricing page offers a free trial and custom Enterprise packages, while Alphaa publishes three fixed monthly prices. That difference tells you a lot about the intended buyer.

Profound's trial runs 50 prompts daily for seven days on a recommended prompt set you cannot customise, in one language and one region. Enterprise adds editable prompts, custom languages and regions, the full engine list, API access, exports and dedicated support. Third-party reviews quote Profound prices, but Profound does not, so we are not repeating them; ask Profound for a quote if price decides it.

Alphaa costs $99 (Starter), $199 (Pro) or $299 (Full Service) a month, month to month with no contract. There is no free trial; instead, the free 60-second AI check shows what the four assistants say about your business today. Full plan details are on the pricing page.

Which AI engines does each tool track?

Profound tracks more engines: up to nine on Enterprise, against Alphaa's four. Profound's pricing page lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search for Enterprise, and ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on the free trial.

Alphaa asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. It does not report on Copilot, DeepSeek or Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode as separate surfaces. For Google's AI features specifically, Google says in AI Features and Your Website that there are no extra requirements beyond being indexed and eligible for a snippet, so the site fixes Alphaa writes are the same ones that help there. If you must report on nine surfaces to a CMO, that favours Profound.

Who does the work after the report?

With Profound, your team directs the work and its Agents can help do it; with Alphaa, the agent drafts the work and the owner only approves it. Both now go beyond dashboards, so this is a question of who is in the loop.

Profound's Agents documentation says you describe a job in plain English, choose when it runs, and that Agents can draft and optimise content for topics where you are losing ground and publish it directly to your CMS. The same page says Agents are available on all plans. That is a powerful tool for a marketer who wants to build workflows.

Alphaa assumes there is no marketer. It decides what to fix from the weekly answers and the site check, writes each fix in plain language, explains why, and waits for a yes. Every published change has an undo. The trade-off is flexibility: you cannot build custom workflows in Alphaa the way you can in Profound.

When should you choose Profound over Alphaa?

Choose Profound if you are a brand or agency team that needs broad engine coverage, daily data and enterprise controls, and has the budget to talk to sales. These signals point that way:

  • You report AI visibility across many surfaces, including Copilot and Google AI Overviews, to leadership.
  • You need prompt volume data, sentiment, competitor benchmarking and exports for your own analysis.
  • Several people need access, with SSO and a security review before purchase.
  • You track many products, regions or languages, or several client brands.
  • Your team wants to design its own content and outreach workflows.

When should you choose Alphaa over Profound?

Choose Alphaa if you run one business, nobody on staff does marketing full time, and you want the fixes written for you at a published price. These signals point that way:

  • You want to know whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity name you for local or category questions.
  • You would rather approve a finished FAQ page or schema fix than read a dashboard.
  • Your site runs on WordPress, Shopify or Webflow.
  • You need a monthly price you can see before you talk to anyone, with no annual contract.

Neither tool can edit what an AI model believes directly, and neither can promise a recommendation. Both work by improving the public signals assistants read. For more on that mechanism, see how to get recommended by ChatGPT.

How do you decide in 15 minutes?

Decide by running both free options against the same questions and comparing what you would do next. Four steps are enough:

  1. Write five customer questions. Use the words a buyer would type, such as "best emergency plumber in Leeds" or "which CRM suits a ten-person agency".
  2. Run Alphaa's free check. It takes about a minute and shows what the four assistants say today.
  3. Start Profound's trial if you need its engines. Its trial uses a recommended prompt set, so note which of your questions it covers.
  4. Ask one question of each result: who on my team acts on this, and by when? The tool whose output you will actually act on is the right one.

What else do buyers ask about Alphaa and Profound?

Is Profound worth it for a small business?

Usually not, unless the business has a marketing team and a budget for custom pricing. Profound is built around team features such as unlimited seats, SSO and prompt analytics, which a single-location business rarely uses.

Does Profound write content like Alphaa does?

Yes, Profound's Agents can draft and optimise content and publish it to a connected CMS, according to its documentation. The difference is that someone on your team sets those Agents up, while Alphaa decides what to fix and drafts it for you to approve.

Does Alphaa track Microsoft Copilot or Google AI Overviews?

No, Alphaa asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. If reporting on Copilot, DeepSeek or Google AI Overviews as separate surfaces matters to you, Profound's Enterprise plan lists them.

Can I use Profound and Alphaa together?

You can, though few businesses need both. A larger brand might use Profound for measurement across many engines and Alphaa to draft fixes for a specific location or store, but most small businesses should pick one.

Does either tool guarantee that AI will recommend me?

No, and you should be wary of any tool that says it does. AI answers change from run to run, and both tools work by improving the public information assistants read rather than by controlling the model.
